Back from vacation
It's been a nice few weeks off, and at the end of this month, taking more time off to go to Vegas.
I'm not a Vegas guy. Not my thing. All the lights, traffic, noises, neon, that's neat for about a day, but it gets old fast. I don't want civilization. I want anarchy.
Give me the outdoors where I don't see another person for days besides the people I'm with. I don't want to see a computer, a car, a road, a building, and airplane, a piece of litter, anything that reminds me of civilization. That's my ideal vacation.
Well, the middle of the week, things should slow down. Got some catching up to do, catch up on bills, do taxes, etc., so I'll be swamped. After I get that crap done, I'll go visit your blogs. In the meantime, hope all is well with you.
Oh, going to see 300 this weekend. I'll have a review up afterwards.

personally, i don't call vegas 'civilization.' my least favorite place i've ever been....yuck.
Amen, man. I'd rather eat my own kidneys than go to Vegas. People from my town go there in droves even though we're a 4-hour drive from the mountains... how sad is that?!
Vegas is OK for quick visits, but I'm not into gambling and find the strip to just be a big money pit. I have friends there who say it's quite a nice place to live, so maybe the tourist area has skewed my vision.
Oh please do a review on 300. I want to know if I should see it in the theaters.
I'm curious about "300" too. If it's just "Gladiator" with better CGI, I'll skip it.
Lime - well, won't say it's my least fav place, but definitely not my choice of vacation places.
SME - Ouch. I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, I'd take the mountains any day over Vegas.
Jason - If they like living in a desert, more power to them. However, I hate the desert.
Sadie and SME - Coming next week. I'll see it either the weekend or Monday night.
Vegas is a 3-4 day kind of place. Anyone who can stand it for longer than that is insane. I like it (I like playing cards). Just an FYI, there's some great places outside the city of Vegas for hiking and sightseeing. Something called the Valley of Fire. I forget exactly. If you rent a car you can see some nice stuff.
Laura - If we have time, I'll try to convince them to check out these places. Since it's a Bachelor Party, I doubt we'll be doing anything non-meatheadish though.
I have been to Vegas once in my life and hope never to go back to be honest. I was 15 and couldnt do much.I hate gambling to this day. I am 30 years old and hate going to our casino here in town. I have been in it twice I think. But the lights in Vegas are very beautiful but like you said not worth the trouble really. My grandfather lived out in Sandy Valley up in the mountains.
By the way I got your name off of tshsmoms blog. Thought I would finally stop by and say hi. Tweets.
i'm with you on your ideal vacation. when i have time off, i don't even look at a computer.
I don't dig on Vegas, either. But if you want to avoid civilisation, you can't beat Montana.
Hmm... since I've never been to Vegas, I'd like to go just once. But I don't enjoy crowds and noise, so I'm guessing just one visit would be enough. Glad you had a good break. :-)
"Since it's a Bachelor Party, I doubt we'll be doing anything non-meatheadish though."
ahhh, well, have fun at the Bunnyranch then. :p
Tweets - Hi. She's one of my fav bloggers, so a big welcome!
Dave - Working on computers eight hours a day, a computer is the last thing I want to see on vacation.
Courtney - This summer, I'll be there.
Notta - You're now close enough that you could take a quick, cheap flight on Southwest. You should do it just to get it out of your system.
Laura - I wouldn't be surprised if a few in the group end up there.
It's so good to see you back and looking forward to your review of the flick.

After dealing with crap all week, please don't feel obligated to visit my crappy blog. I come here, because you are an insightful, witty, engaging writer and I enjoy your stuff... the fact that you acknowledge my humble comments is enough, sir.
Peace out!
Thanks for welcoming ZS. I have been a life long friend of Tshsmoms. I know her daughter from school. We went to school together so I am making new friends through her and myself here. Hope things are well. Have a great weekend. Tweets.
mr. slade and I went to LV for our honeymoon and had a great time...but I agree with you--a little bit goes a long way! We really enjoyed the Blue Note Cafe. It was a great jazz restaraunt down this side alley, and the after-dinner cinnamon coffee was awesome.
Just want you to know that my parents saw 300 this weekend and they said there were about 20 kids in there under the age of 10. She told me some of the scenes that mae her feel uncomfortable--being in the same room with children. Yikes! Do that review!
cool. I agree with lime but haven't been. Don't wanna either...
Bo - Thanks. I learn a lot from your blog too.
Tweety - They're good people. Of course you know that. :)
Slade - That's where Mrs. Z and I went on our honeymoon. A great time, but I just can't do it like a lot of Californians do it - constantly. It seems everyone here always wants to go to Vegas for everything.
Sadie - I did a mini-review in that new post. I sold my main review though, and thus lost the rights to it.
Bridget - You're not missing that much.
