Yet another year's about to end

Just to let you know, I wasn't at all dissing Hybrids. I was however making fun of my buddy's mother's elitist attitude with them, especially considering my Saturn got better gas mileage and had more trunk room. My Saturn's definitely not a babe magnet though. I guess there's no such thing as a perfect car.

Joke

Do you know what the leper said to the surgeon?

"Hey buddy, could you lend me a hand?"

Music

I know we all like different musicians, different bands, etc. But I'm always one to try new things, and really appreciate it when folks introduce me to new music. I always want to know what's out there. I keep hearing people my age say "there's no good music today." No, there will always be good music written, you just have to search for it.

HIM's Dark Light is really growing on me. I really like this album, and thanks to Sygyzy for first reviewing HIM. My wife hates the singer's voice, but Junior and I like it.

New Year's Resolutions

This post is for Jenn. Thanks babe for posting yours. My single New Year's Resolution is quite boring. It's simply to finish paying off my credit card debt.

I had zero credit card debt until my job got outsourced. Since then, we've been scrambling to make ends meet. One of the side effects of being unemployed is credit card debt, since I wasn't exactly going to sell any of my investments. In the long run, it will all pay off, so no complaints. Unfortunately, a lot of my fellow former coworkers haven't been as fortunate.

Hot American Babe - Rachel Ray

And lastly, I present to you the lovely Rachel Ray. I've known of Giada for awhile now, but only recently heard of Rachel Ray. She also has a show on Food Network.

Giada's already coming to the anti-zombie compound when the plague starts. Imagine having both gorgeous cooks. I'll judge the cook-off. "Hmm...both wonderful, too close to call. I think we'll have to have another one next week."

Yup, that will be our life. One request though. I know how to raise chickens and ducks, having experience with both. Will need help with the cows and the pigs. And yes, I won't do a Charlotte's Web on the runt. Yes, your daughter can keep him as a pet. Just don't expect me to explain to her why Wilbur is missing when Rachel wants to make ham. That's your job.

In defense of Giada, some people were saying that if a cook is skinny, that implies their cooking is no good. The other way to look at it, if they're fat, maybe nobody's eating their food so they have to eat it all and if they're skinny, the food is so good that everyone eats it all before the cook has a chance to eat. Something to consider.

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years all! I doubt I'll be online over the three-day break, possibly a little tonight but not much, so hope you all have a good New Years.

ACK! I can't STAND Rachel Ray! I've seen her twice. Just the mere sound of her voice (and her inability to correctly pronounce ANY ethnic food) gives me a headache.

Happy New Year to you and yours!

I like Rachel Ray. She's a very common sense cook.
Credit cards have saved our butts a couple of times too. I find the fastest way to pay them off is to play "musical credit card". Whenever I'd get an offer in the mail for 0% for 6-18 months AND no transaction fee, I'd sign up for the card and pay off a higher interest card. Just before the intro offer expired, I'd transfer to another 0% card.
It's amazing how fast your debt goes down when you're only paying on the principal!

For some reason, I remember those early commercials for Saturn cars with shopping carts bouncing off of them without a scratch. Now I'm picturing bikini-clad babes bouncing off your car. Maybe I've had too much sugar today.

Happy New Year, ZS!

Happy New Years to you Zombie! Speaking of trying new music, have you ever heard of James Blunt? He's got a weird gravely sounding voice like he's sipped a little helium. His voice is haunting and he's an excellent songwriter.

New Years resolutions...bahh humbug! I usually don't make any, then that way I'm not disappointed when I don't keep them. :)

Hiiiilarious joke! ;)

New Years resolution... hmmm that would be a tough one for me this year, well actually there are always things that could be changed or done better. I think I will think on it and maybe post it myself.

Have a great New Years Bash, and don't forget to have fun at the strike of twelve!! ;) See ya next year!!

I dig Rachel Ray - she makes some good looking food too!

LOL @ the leper joke, reminds me of another leper joke I've heard, but cannot think of at the moment.

Happy New Years Zombislayer!

Rachel doesn't do it for me; maybe because I've watched her one too many times on TV. She's a huge draw for the food network though, and she is cute. Giada though. Ahhh.

Laura - I guess we'll have to muzzle her when you're around. She supposebly knows her stuff. I have yet to cook any of her stuff though. I've cooked some of Giada's and it's quite good, and easy to make.

Bearette - Cool. I've yet to use one of her recipes, so glad someone likes them.

Honkeie - Aren't most bartenders alcoholics? They're either alcoholics or workaholics. I've never met one that wasn't one or the other.

Tshsmom - Excellent advice. I now have four for that very reason. I'm switching them over to no interest cards, making minimum on the rest while paying off one at a time heavily.

Miladysa - Nope. A cook or a music talent?

Jessica - They don't scratch. We've banged our bikes and other stuff into the Saturn many, many times. No scratches, no dents. Neat technology. As for bikini-clad babes, I'd prefer them inside my Saturn. ;)

Lime - That scares kids when you know their music. They don't know how to respond. It's kind of funny to see their responses when they walk around with their music t-shirts and I say, "Oh yeah, I've seen them at X and really like their Y album."

Moni - I'll have to do a search for him on Amazon. Nope, never heard of him.

Clothosfate - I don't make them often. This year is the first time in awhile I've done one. Like your new avatar by the way. Wish a naked babe with wings would sit by me. What is it with Pan? His pipes? His hooves? His horns? I wonder what makes the guy so pimp.

Dusty - I heart you too dear. The world is big enough for our beliefs. Besides, we have the love of dogs, sports, and the love of laughter in common. That's enough in my book.

Bridget - Well, we're in the same boat then. I was so proud of not having credit cards, then Wham! My job gets sent overseas and everyone I knew was unemployed and competing for the same five jobs.

Bsoholic - You have leper jokes too? I bet those lepers are going to start an anti-defamation league for lepers.

Scott - Between you and me, Giada does it for me more. I like Rachel, but more because of her cooking talents. A woman who can cook is almost always sexy. But Giada is cuter, also can cook, and has more of a magnetic personality. With Giada, I just want to go up to her and give her a hug.

Giada and Rachel are not pretty in my humble opinion. I can see why men would like either of them though--Giada has that prissy-school girl look and Rachel is the girl-next-door. Plus, both of them are skilled in the art of winning a man through his stomach--so there ya go.
I'm with Laura, Rachel's personality annoys me. Do you know she shortens language because she's too laxy? Example:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil on her show is: E.V.O.O
eck.

Zombie, Not that it matters much, but your latest new commenter, (the one who refuses to use an apostrophe) "Zach," is part of the big happy family in Nevada County that loves your blog and follows it faithfully. To help you make the connection: he's "Walker's" younger brother, "Michele's" nephew, "Levi's" cousin, "Sadie's" cousin, and my son. Oh yeah, and he's also a buddy of "Bo's".

Rachel Ray is the bomb.
She is a helluva a cook and cute too.

Not Salma Hakey hot, but her cooking abilities almost make up for it.

Check out Paula Deene's recipes on Food TV, she's not nearly as good looking, but damn if her baked french toast isn't the best tasting dish I've ever eaten.

Another hot TV chef. NIGELLA.

Look for "Nigella Bites." Imagine Elizabeth Hurley with a spatula.

TV Chefs: If they intend to cackle for a half an hour over the food they are preparing, They should include a half cup of spittle to the recipe.
I am surprised that you lovely ladies who spend a quarter of your life time in the kitchen need another serve of pain, by watching these powderpuffed overdressed gooks make you feel inadequate, when your family sit down for dinner to sausage & mashed spuds.

Sadie - Giada has that prissy-school girl look and Rachel is the girl-next-door.

Hmm, never really saw Giada that way, but completely agree on Rachel. I like the "girl-next-door" look. As for calling Extra Virgin Olive Oil E.V.O.O., that's lame! I had no idea she did that. Only saw her show once, so that loses points. :(

Notta - Well, you can always use New Years as a year-long goal.

Bsoholic - Heh, I'll add that to my leper joke collection. :)

Miladysa - I saw the ballad. A little too mellow for me. I'll check out the other videos in a minute.

Vest - You too, buddy.

Zachary - Yeah, saw the video. So far have Dark Light and Love Metal. I just wish my wife liked HIM. She leaves the room sometimes when I put HIM on.

Melanie - Very cool. The more the merrier. :)

Saurkraut - I want someone to invent calorie-less strawberry shortcake!!!

Nooooo! The calories are what make it so good. ;)

Ben O - Food is one of my favorite things, so cute babes who can make good food are always welcome in the anti-zombie compound.

Bearette - That's three! I now have three leper jokes. Thanks.

Bhakti - Am I going to get the answer to this one? D'oh!

ZL - You too buddy!

Tshsmom - Heh. I like both of theirs.

Jenn - Your question answered below...

Joe - Very few could compare with Salma. I bought a Vanity Fair because it had hot pics of Salma, that's how much I like her.

What time is Paula Deene on? Heard of Nigella, but haven't seen her yet.
