Hot American Babe - Giada De Laurentiis

You all know how much I love food. This weekend, I stayed in the Bay Area. We have no cable in Chico, so when we want to watch tv, we either have to rent it from the local video store or go to the sports bar.

So I finally got to see Food Network and my favorite cook. I loooove Italian food, and my older brother for last Christmas bought me two Italian cookbooks. One of them was Everyday Italian by Giada De Laurentiis.

If you've never seen this show, you need to see it. She has this big ol' smile that fills up the screen. You can't help staring at her. I really need to watch her cook, but instead, I'm watching her the whole time the show's going on.

Her cookbook is pretty good. I use a few of her recipes in my cooking. Know her marinara recipe by heart.

Her cooking is Italian American and she loves food. You could tell by watching her show that she loves what she's doing, she's not faking it.

Pick up her book too when you get the chance.

So don't worry, friends. She'll be our official Italian cook in my anti-zombie compound. No zombie will be getting through my walls, and meanwhile, we'll be pigging out on delicious Italian food.

Delicious Italian...! Yummm... You and I have pretty much the exact same taste in women I notice... I bet your wife is hot ;) teehee

Well, I heard the reverse theory. Never trust a fat cook because they cook and nobody wants to eat it, so the cook has to eat it all. ;)

Clothosfate - Please do. Would love to see your hot babe posts. Maybe I could get Mrs. Z to start a blog ID so she could post on your dudes.

She's OK, but I thought Nigella was the ultimate. She had enough weight on her that you could actually picture her eating her own food, but she hadn't reached Julia Child proportions.

If she could ever make a 4 cheese tortelini like the one I used to eat at this Italian cafe in Rimini Italy I would sure like her to be my own personal cook.

I've seen her show once and you're correct. She has a smile that fills the screen!

The name Giada in my house is like Cher or Elvis--no last name needed. My wife adores her, and I do too, for the same reasons that my wife adores Brett Favre. We saw a Christmas or Thanksgiving special last year that had all the Food Network stars: Emeril , Rachel Ray, The Barefoot Contessa, Alton Brown, of course, Giada. Emeril and Alton were trying to play it cool, but they were drooling over Giada and totally ignoring Rachel and the contessa. It was embarassing, but Giada is just that hot.

Okay great...now you've got me daydreaming about 101 things to do with pasta...and not all of them have to do with eating it!

Score one hot cook for the ZS compound. Yikes!

Scott - Rachel Ray is a hottie too. She's the other Food Network cook I'm familiar with. Too funny though about Emeril and Alton. Poor Rachel.

Bsoholic - I'm noticing we have somewhat similar tastes in the babe department.

Neal - Her food is somewhat Americanized. She's really an American of Italian decent and I think she learned here. However, critics really like her food. And as Scott said, the guys all think she's easy on the eyes.

Vest - I do some posts sober. ;)

SME - Not familiar with her. I'll have to check when she's on.

To be honest, I can't stand this woman. Her cooking is good, but I don't like her personality with her fake accent, and, let's face it, cleavage doesn't cook, but apparently her producers think it does, because her boobies are hanging out on every episode. Give me the Barefoot Contessa anyday... she looks like she eats the food she cooks!

I can't believe it. My mom was hangin' out with me yesterday and we both love cooking shows but we can't watch Everyday Italian because the cook--Giada--will eat us with her scary mouth!
What is it with you and girls with scary mouths?
First Kira Knightly, now this gal?
Come on, Z. Have you ever seen Nigela? Now there's a sexy cooking show star!

Too bad. I would really love to learn how to make that 4 cheese tortelini. I also had a good dish over there called Pene Arabiata. It was a spicy tomato sauce with chopped ham. I spent a total of about 13 months in Rimini Italy and I loved every minute of it. The food was great and the topless beaches weren't too bad either.

Neal, A few years back a casual worker employed by us rang me to say he had married a rich Italian chick who lived up to his expectations except for the tucker she cooked. Bruce was a real dork but good looking and pleasant, but insisted on having Aussie food.
Soon after they went to the Lady Jane nudist beach near Sydney, Maria took sandwiches for lunch and Bruce took his huge Salami, on seeing what Bruce had brought for her to share, Maria dropped her sandwiches and fell in love with Bruce's huge Australian Salami, simply a case of lust at first sight.

Vest - It's past 1:30 A.M. here and you got me laughing loudly. I hope I didn't wake anyone up. If I get yelled at tomorrow for waking them up, I'm blaming you. ;)

Neal - We need to bring back topless beaches. Had plenty when I was little. Well, you remember the 70s better than I did, so you know what I'm talking about.

Oh, you were mainly talking about Italy. ;)

Michele - see below...

Sadie - All right. All right. I'll check her out.

Julia Roberts has a scary mouth and I think she's hideous.

I like Giada because she appears genuine. Hmm...maybe we got different reads from her.

Miladysa - I'm a Nigella virgin. Don't know.

Cillic - I like her cleavage. You should see her cookbook. It's all cleavage. They also angle her nose too in a perfect way, to take some of the size off of it.

I think she's a cutie. Funny how we're getting the extremes of hot to yuck, but no in betweens with Giada.

The Zombieslayer's hacked version of Giada's Marinara recipe - I'm doing this from memory, and keep in mind, I change recipes each time I cook. This is what I did last time. It's not exactly her recipe, but close

2 28-oz cans crushed tomatoes
1 6-oz can of tomato paste
3 bay leaves
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 can black olives
1 t salt
1 t freshly ground black pepper
1/2 yellow onion
3 garlic cloves
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Chop up onion and garlic and heat them in medium heat in the olive oil until onion is translucent, which takes about 10 minutes or so.

Slice up celery and carrots finely and throw those in next. cook for about 10 minutes until they soften up.

Then throw in everything else but olives. As soon as it bubbles, turn the heat to low or simmer. Stir occasionally until it's nice and thick, about one hour.

Oh, almost forgot the olives. Chop those suckers in thirds and throw them in when you're about half way done.

You can use it with anything. I've used it from pasta to marinating my chicken for the outdoor grill. You can even freeze it and keep it for up to a month in the freezer.

Just don't eat the bay leaves.

I think she's a bit too thin. Nice personality, though.

If I had to be with a woman it would definitely be Mariska Hargitay.

Bhakti - Mariska Hargitay is pretty hot. I like that body on her.

I like women's bodies in a wide range, from Kate Moss to Anna Nicole Smith. I'm just saying their bodies, not their personalities.

I like a nice shape on a woman. I woman who is thin and shapely or a woman who is thick and shapely are both nice to look at.

Miladysa - Definitely will do. :)

Well where are the thick and shapely ones Zombie? Of course they all these women you post are beautiful, but I would love to see some good looking men too. I am old, but I still look and apprciate. Hummm nothing like a man with a nice butt and kissable lips!

LP - I have to convince Mrs. Z to start a blog. Then we'll both see what her taste in men is.

It's more than body when I like a woman. They have to have something more. I guess the bigger woman I've always admired most is Kate Winslet.

People made fun of her for being big, calling her "Kate Piglet", but I thought she was gorgeous. Still is.

Miladysa - Liv Tyler is hot, but she looks a little too much like Steven. Still wouldn't kick her out of bed. ;)
