Life Insurance Policies

Some folks have been asking me whether or not they'll get to collect if their spouse gets killed by a zombie and comes back to life. Well, I have life insurance, making sure that if something happened to me, Mrs. Zombieslayer and Zombieslayer Jr. would not be in dire straits financially. So I called my agent and asked. However, they haven't returned my call yet. When they do, I'll let you know.

While that is in fact an interesting question to ask your insurance advisor, I can completely understand why they have not returned your call yet...or if the ever will.

Betcha they try to nail you for an add on policy that has to be in effect at least 12 months before the event, just like covering pregnancy on a health insurance policy.

Heather - I knew it. Those tricky insurance agents. So in case of a zombie outbreak, most people won't get to collect. Although $12/month is kind of reasonable, if people knew about it.

I'm pretty sure that you could at first collect, but then they would want you to return the money. You would argue that your loved one didn't come back to life so you should get to keep the money. They would argue that you got the money because your loved one died, but they are now undead so you would have to return the money.

The bright point of this whole argument is that everyone knows that the insurance guys always become Zombies in the second wave, right after the first wave that usually includes all the people who are stuck working at night like garbage men...

So, while the insurance company would probably win on the technicality, it's unlikely they could ever get the money back before the ensuing Zombie plague.
